Name: Dinosa Sathgunalingam
Age: 17 years old
Mum is in home with 1 younger brother who is studying. Dad died in the last attacks. She didn’t get to see her dad for the last time. Her mum went to see him.
She lived in refugee camp for 1 year with no water facilities and toilet facilities. She said there was not much of an education level while she was in camp. Her at PCV, she has much to study and learn.
She wants to study a lot and be with her family living comfortably.
Name: Sanuja Gopalakrishnan
Age: 11 years old
Mum is in home with her younger brother. Dad remarried to another woman and left her and her mum. Her elder sister and elder brother are in different hostels elsewhere.
The courts was the one which handed her over to PCV, saying that her father had left and there was no bread-winner to support the family hence on seeing their poverty status, and were unable to afford education she was brought here to study.
She wasn’t studying at home and she prefers it here as she is able to pass exams and go to the next level.
When we asked what she wanted? She wasn’t thinking. It was like she had something in mind but was afraid to tell it out. There are so many of them like her. They are all traumatized and they lost the hope for wanting something.
