Name: Ameertharoobi Ameerthalingam
Age: 17 years old
Dad became handicapped due to the war attacks. Mum is with 2 elder sisters. She lost her elder brother in 2006, because of bomb explosion. Only his right arm was left for the family to see as the explosion had disfigured his entire body and face. One of the elder sister is blinded due to the bomb explosions also. Her second sister who has a daughter had lost her husband in the war too.

She was in camp for one year facing the challenges as the other girls who stayed in camp. She got to PVC through the announcement made by GOC that they are taking in children affected by the war. She was also on one of the girls who was dragged to leave the “home” and had fainted. She was pranked by the government officials on the 1st April saying that they will be sent back to PVC, when they were pushed inside a bus and were transferred to a new hostel where they were mentally tortured. Having been in PVC for so long, that was their home and she couldn’t accept the hostel. There they interrogated the kids , even the seven year olds saying that these kids had boyfriends back in PVC and that’s why they are dying to go back.

When she went back home after her mum came to get her, she realized she couldn’t continue her studies. So she called the father of many children, Sir, who fought for all the girls I have been talking about to put them in a hostel and give them the education that they should get.
